| It has been reported in todays SINDO that a number of leading restaurateurs have branded consumer rights campaigner Eddie Hobbs and his latest RTE vehicle Rip Off Republic as "flawed", "biased" and "sensationalist". More than 650,000 people tuned in to watch Mr Hobbs' analysis of the cost of entertainment on last Monday's programme. After lambasting the cost of everything from haircuts to popcorn, the man dubbed "Hype it Up Hobbs" turned on rip-off restaurateurs who, he alleges, pump up the price of a bottle of wine by an incredible 340 per cent. It infact turns out the bottle of wine in question was a fake! Last night a spokesperson for RTE was forced to admit the bottle of wine shown on Rip Off Republic was "a dummy"... The only rip of here is the waste of tax payers money on "Hype it Up" Hobbs's Flawed, Biased & Sensationalist tripe! |

| Hopefully, Rip-off Republic will deal with the two rip-offs (suprisingly ignored by the media), the apparent cartel in the broadsheet newspaper market, and the license fee.

| I'm with the Blueshirts on this one... I know from talking to the local FFers, that he's driving ye nuts. If i were the blueshirts however, I'd stay away from him as best I can, and don't even dare approach him looking for him to stand in the GE. Sit back and let him do the damage all by himself. One sniff round by Enda, and FF will smear him so fast he won't kno wwhat hit him. The only thing I wonder about is will RTE be "advised" to do a Bull Island on him, and the show will sink after one series, at least a year before the GE. He's an annoying ********************er, but worth 10 seats at least against FF

| And please, your contribution stinks of FF extremism, wake up and smell the reality, attack and deal with the problems in this country, not the people pointing them out. And please, don't start another thread, we've been talking about this subject for weeks!!!
