Discussing the Martin Foley attack. Has this guy shares in TV3 ? He seems to be wheeled out every time they report as much as a punch being thrown somewhere. It isn't as if he provides us with brilliant insights.

OK....when something like the attack on The Viper takes place, the media outlets must cover it and in so doing their choices are limited to :
(a) established media sources (b) Garda sources - named or unnamed (c) the public (d) crime figures with/without agendas.
Well (a) and (b) represent the old reliables and like them or loathe them they have an awful lot more going for them in news quest land than (c) or (d) where all thoughts are free range with no comeback if a rant rampage of libellious proportions takes place.
Plus any new kid on the block who puts his head over the parapet and offers an overview or crime analysis will immediately be dismissed as knowing nothing.
So the media channels have little option but to go to the old reliables cos that way there's less chance they'll end up on the receiving end of either a bullet or a lawsuit.
This ain't a perfect world y'know. [/b]

They've got him signed up for a 6-part (I think) series on crime, which will be airing some time in the next few months.

That deal may involve appearances elsewhere or it may not - either way they obviously have a good working relationship with him and so they're going to use him for stuff like this.

Default what are you on about?

How can you describe that slithery country gob ********************e as a legend? He is a sensationalist 2 bit journalist that collected three cornflake tokens to write for the equally terrible and far from ground breaking sunday world.
His stories are all straight from his gardai sources and are not backed up by any substance. I heord from a lad who grew up with him that he seriously wanted to become a copper but missed out on the foundational english in the lc and instead now he just wears a guarda pj's under his suit and hangs around with them believing every little lurid utterance out of their mouths.
I heord him on the last word today bemoaning how young cops were getting an awful time for slapping 'scumbags' from the ombudsman. Ha - can you imagine such crap. Obviously - PJ would like to hark back to the donegal days when cops were free to do what they want.
I think it rich that this sanctimonious ************************* lives off crime - writing books that no one should wipe their ass with essentially - is this not essentially glamourising crime? Why does he give these stupid nicknames to 2 bit hoods - it only further serves to heighten their own egos.
It is fitting though that cardboard tv (tv3) has joined forces with this equally useless ghoul. May they live happily after.. Essentially the sunday world has become a mouthpiece for the gardai with this ejet - i wonder will tv3 go the same way??
