Probably something to do with its early Irish Christian symbolism - the otter represents the fisherman - the apostles were fishers of men's souls etc etc.

Apparently these are the campaign issues of Mary Doherty's group:

She want's to stop sex education being given in primary schools. This is the same program that's there to teach our kids to communicate if there being molested. She's also spreading the same crap of church law superseeding state law that had the Guards ignoring the rape of children.
