Default Jeenifer Rush , Martin Ferris and the Power of love

The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeeeping tight
Are rolling like thunder now
As I look in your eyes
I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake

'Cause I am your laaaady
And you are my maaan
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I caaaan

Lost is how I'm feeling, lying in your arms
When the world outside's too
Much to take
That all ends when I'm with you
Even though there may be times
It seems I'm far away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side

'Cause I am your laaaaaaaady
And you are my maaaaan
Whenever you reach for meeee
I'll do all that I caaaan

We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear
Suddenly the feeling that I can't go on
Is light years away

'Cause I am your laaaady
And you are my maaan
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

Marie and I both worship that song. We love it. "It's always been special. She's a fabulous singer and the words are fantastic

Martin Ferris TD

The Sinn Fein TD recently admitted this on Miriam OCallaghans radio one .

anyone else like it ? Jennifer Rushes power of love ? find it inspiring at all ? worship it even ?

for the record Im more of a Demis Roussos man myself . I find romantic stimulation in many of his songs , and also those of Tony Christie , Tom Jones and Burt Bacharach numbers performed by a host of female entertainers , including Dionne Warwick and Dusty Springfield .
But not anything by Jenifer Rush . In fact if i remember correctly back in my teenage disco years it was usually during that song tthat the fights broke out in silverbridge , mullaghban and Laceys discos . Also cupids . It was the anthem for bloody massacre . It also reminds me of big hair and Rambo films .

Same song played a crucial role in David Lodge's novel Nice Work , wherein it unleashes the inner romantic in hard bitten businessman Vic Wilcox.
Life imitating art.

Indeed . Lets just be thankful it wasnt an inferior identically titled version from the same year performed by Huey Lewis and the News .

doesnt bear thinking of what the consequences might have been had there been a mix up . Although ive a feeling from the lyrics it might indeed have been this one .

The power of love is a curious thing
Make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
More than a feeling thats the power of love
Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girls dream
Make a bad one good make a wrong one right
Power of love that keeps you home at night
You dont need money, dont take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
Its strong and its sudden and its cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
Thats the power of love
Thats the power of love
First time you feel it, it might make you sad
Next time you feel it it might make you mad
But youll be glad baby when youve found
Thats the power makes the world go round
And it dont take money, dont take fame
Dont need no credit card to ride this train
Its strong and its sudden it can be cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
They say that all in love is fair
Yeah, but you dont care
But you know what to do
When it gets hold of you
And with a little help from above
You feel the power of love
You feel the power of love
Can you feel it ? ....Hmmm
It dont take money and it dont take fame
Dont need no credit card to ride this train
Tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel
You wont feel nothin till you feel
You feel the power, that's the power of love
Thats the power, thats the power of love
You feel the power of love
You feel the power of love
Feel the power of love

More of a Sade man myself.
I used to think of myself as a bit of a smooth operator.

I thought wrong.

No definititely this one by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Have it on good authority that Martin has indeed protected his constituents from the hooded claw, and moreover kept the vampire from their doors.
Although Gerry would still like to pay a vist sometime.
"The Power Of Love"

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

Feels like fire
I'm so in love with you
Dreams are like angels
They keep bad at bay-bad at bay
Love is the light
Scaring darkness away-yeah

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

[1]-The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down I'll be around
With my undying, death-defying
Love for you

Envy will hurt itself
Let yourself be beautiful
Sparkling love, flowers
And pearls and pretty girls
Love is like an energy
Rushin' rushin' inside of me

[Repeat 1]

This time we go sublime
Lovers entwine-divine divine
Love is danger, love is pleasure
Love is pure-the only treasure

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
The power of love
A force from above
A sky-scraping dove

Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

what has to be remmbered here though was that Frankie Goes to Hollywood were highly enthusiastic and commited homosexualists , which means the above lyrics refer to the singers anus . Which sort of killed the romantic theme for me .

unsurprisngly wolfbaggers seem to have free reign to what they want though . Unsurprisingly .
