| I did one on this last year and remember a good response, so its that time of year again where cities open up galleries and venues free for the citizenry and good craic is had by all. I went to Poetry Ireland last year and shall do so again this year. I put a quick note on the bloggie describing the evening, later I heard from friends who'd gone to other events that sounded good also. So I am hoping to Tweet the evening and hope a few others get out and tell people what's happening. Culture Night Blog: Culture Night- welcome to dublin culture night Poetry Ireland Calendar: Poetry Ireland | What's On | Calendar Last year's event was an open mic event down at the Unitarian church in St Stephen's Gree, a regular PI venue , there was a marathon and motley selection of the notorious and new in poetics. It was an excellent evening with a good variety of magazines and books available to audience members and assorted readers. The lads down at PI have decided to repeat the programme structure again this year with a seven minute reading slot allocated on a first come first serve basis from 6pm-11pm. *all Welcome* Anyone can add events in here if they want to.

| shouldn't let the fact that Cullen launched an attack on writers get in the way of a good evening, mostly our government haven't got beyond the Disney level of reading yet: Martin Cullen has cut funding to two Writer's Centres.
