There is bedlam today in Newry as the town is gridlocked due to a unusual midweek deluge of southern shoppers.

Local radio in Newry is reporting that ambulances are unable to access Daisy Hill Hospital, and that the PSNI are being requested to airlift emergency patients to and from hospital.
It is traditional that strikes would cause disruption to one's own jurisdiction.
I see that they have called a second day of picketing (or for the PS Newry shoppers, their first). It will be a date to avoid driving north anyway.
